Benefits of the Autism@Work Pilot Program

The resources developed for the Autism@Work program aim to enhance Disability Employment Service (DES) providers with knowledge to understand more about autism and also understand what support and training is available for both employers and autistic jobseekers.

Every autistic individual is unique and will have different sensory and work preferences and will have a wide range of strengths and abilities. There is not a ‘one size fits all’ adjustment and approaches will need to be individualised for each autistic employee.   

These adjustments should be developed collaboratively between providers, employers and autistic employees to ensure ongoing success.

Our research and review process

Every resource on the Autism@Work website has been reviewed by, written by or had contributions from autistic people.

To reflect the diversity of language preferences in the autism community we use a mixture of identity-first (for example ‘autistic person’) and person first (for example ‘person on the autism spectrum’) language.

We thank the many people who have contributed their ideas, suggestions and feedback, who have reviewed the website content and given their time so generously to develop this material.
